In-House Programme

PLAYING IN-HOUSE AT BBAFC

Our In-house Football Programme is for ages 5 to 12yrs who wish to play at Lloyd Elsmore Park on a Saturday morning.

The In-house competition is a competition between other BBAFC teams so there is no traveling involved.  You can play with your mates, make up a team and have some fun.

See the NRF Page for information on traveling teams.

FORMAT

5-8 Years

All games are played on a Saturday morning at Lloyd Elsmore Park. The format for 5-8 year olds, sees players placed in a team for the year.  A typical Saturday morning will consist of skills based drills in alignment with NZF (New Zealand Football) Junior Football Framework and finish with a fun game between teams.  These are made up to teams of 6 and play 4 x 4 format.  There will typically be 30 minute skills and then a 24 minute game (2 x 12 minute halves).

5th and 8th grade play 4 aside on a mini pitch

9-12 Years

All games are played on a Saturday morning at Lloyd Elsmore Park. Teams in the 9th, 10th and combined 11th/12th grade, play at Lloyd Elsmore Park, one game each week against another BBAFC In-house team. All games will be 50 minutes (2 x 25 min halves)

9th and 10th grade play 7 aside on a 1/4 pitch

11th and 12th grade play 9 aside on a 1/2 pitch

Teams can be mixed with boys and girls, or full girls team (which we find in most cases preferable), and the full girls team play down a grade in an attempt to make the teams as even in competition as possible, however at this age the emphasis is placed on having fun.

Teams can be mixed with boys and girls, or full girls team (at the younger ages it doesnt make too much difference, but as they get older, all girls teams become more preferable), however at this age the emphasis is placed on having fun.

NZ FOOTBALL JUNIOR FRAMEWORK

From 2020 BBAFC has been implementing and following the New Zealand Football's Junior Framework.

The New Zealand Junior Framework provides a consistent, coordinated national approach to the development of junior players. Its main aim is to provide all junior players with high quality football experiences that increase both skill levels and the passion for playing football. Through the Junior Framework, players will experience age appropriate football games and coaching in a programme that is specifically tailored to meet their football wants and needs. Through standardised playing formats, clear outcomes and training recommendations for each stage of a players development, alignment will be achieved across New Zealand in Junior Football as well as increased support for volunteer coaches. The importance of the Junior Framework cannot be underestimated. Implemented with commitment at all levels, it will ensure the experience provided at the grassroots leaves Kiwi kids enthused, technically competent and in love with our game.

"As a kid growing up there was nothing I loved more than playing football with my friends. Having fun scoring goals, trying new skills and copying out football heroes helped me fall in love with the game"                                       Winston Reid, All Whites Captain
