Our grading process is an opportunity to see all the specific age groups come together and participate in some small sided games. No player is discarded, but it is a way we can navigate the team building process most effectively. It should not be a stressful situation for your player. We are a community club that strives to nurture all our members and give them all equal opportunities. All we ask is that you register prior to attending the Grading so we have your details already on hand. This make the process run much smoother.
The grading this year will run in conjuction with the Academy programme, with the specific age grade on that day grouped together. We will try to accommodate requests to play with your mates, or to play in a more competitive environment.
For 9th to 12th graders, if you are unsure if In-house or NRF is right for you, please come along to the grading and discuss with one of our coaches or exec member. For the girls especially we find the NRF league a much better experience for them.
2024 was the first year we ran the Bucklands Beach AFC stand alone Summer Football programme, and by all account it was a great success. Taking away the stress of having to formulate teams and run a draw, and making sure your players are availble, the free play style worked really well. Players turned up on their designated day, and were put into teams on the spot, and the session was run by rotating teams. Players made new friends and strengthen existing, all while running around improving their skills and having a lot of fun.
This style of programme will be back in Term 4 2025, to finish off the season keeping the players active leading into Christmas.
