Lyle Jones - 100 First Team Caps

Today marks another special day in the history of the club with Lyle Jones becoming only the fourth player to reach the 100 First Team game milestone. To reach a century at the age of 23 is testament not only to his talent but also his commitment to his local club. An outstanding young man who it has been a pleasure to coach over many years. He is everything you want in a player. Skilful, hardworking, devastatingly fast, but above all a club man who puts the team ahead of any individual wishes or glories. Every team needs a Lyle, but not all are fortunate to have one, luckily, we do. Congratulations mate and enjoy the day, mark it with a goal and here’s to the next 100 and beyond!

Player Profile:

From playing first team rugby at Pakuranga College to 100 first team games for Bucklands Beach — it’s been an unreal journey. I came from a rugby background but always supporting Chelsea in the Premier League and playing Fifa on PS4 always felt like I was missing out so swapping codes at 16 to join my mates at Bucklands Beach was probably the best decisions I’ve ever made. Having lived in Bucklands Beach all my life playing for my local club and putting on the jersey every week is very special. I’ve been at the club for 6 years now.  (4 years First Team).
